New Co-ordinating Editor: Dr Neil O'Connell

With the departure of Co-ordinating Editor Professor Christopher Eccleston we are delighted to announce that Dr Neil O’Connell will take on this role, having been Joint Co-Ed with Professor Eccleston since January 2020.

Dr Neil O’Connell is a Reader in the Department of Health Sciences at Brunel University, London, UK. He is the author of 12 Cochrane Reviews and has been a PaPaS Editor since 2014. He divides his time between research and teaching and previously worked clinically as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Neil's research interests focus on the evidence based management of persistent pain and he has published extensively in this area. At Brunel he leads and teaches modules in the principles and practice of evidence based healthcare for pre- and post-graduate clinicians. Neil was a member of the Guideline Development Group for the UK's National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) 2016 guideline for the management of low back pain and sciatica, and was a specialist committee member for the NICE Quality Standard on that topic.
